Threefold Mission

~ God has given us all a threefold mission: 1. to preach the gospel, 2. to teach the Bible, 3. to make disciples. ~

Our mission is not different than the Great Commission that Jesus gave to all of His disciples (Matt 28:19). Although God's plan for our lives differentiates in its specifics than anyone else's (Eph 2:10). God has given us a threefold mission: 1. to preach the gospel, 2. to teach the Bible, 3. to make disciples. All three points of this mission are interrelated and are sustainable in that disciples evangelize others and make other disciples, who in turn teach, evangelize, teach the Bible, and make more disciples.

Evangelism

Since we are missionaries involved with church planting, our main focus at the beginning of any work is on evangelism - preaching the good news. Methods of evangelism take on many forms, the most successful being through making relationships that allow for an open door for a personalized gospel message that is contextually meaningful in their situation.

Teach the Word

As part of Calvary Chapel our main focus of our weekly services is upon teaching the Word of God line upon line, precept upon precept. That is why we teach chapter by chapter through the Bible with the purpose of keeping the teaching contextualized within the passage and over time to better understand the whole council of God given to us through the Bible.

Discipleship

Lastly, discipleship is the goal of all of the work that we do. The best discipleship methodology that we have found is just spending time and sharing our lives with others. We are not in any "high" or "enlightened" state to disciple others - it is only as we listen to the Master to what He tells us in private and we declare it to those around us that we can help others to learn to follow Him too. :)

Response

All that we do is a response to what our Wonderful Savior has done for us. What we do for Him is only possible because of what He is enabling us to do because of His working through us. We cannot take credit for what is initiated and enabled by Him. To Him be all the glory for eternity!
