Project Manger - Doug Case

  • Set up the publication schedules and coordinate timelines with all involved.
  • Coordinate with the CC Boise pastoral staff on the next issue's theme.
  • Communicate with the missionaries in Romania about article guidelines and due dates.
  • Work with the Field Editor in Romania to solicit articles from missionaries.
  • Collect the draft articles and photography.
  • Initial review and very basic editing of submitted articles. The Project Manager's goal is to insure the submitted articles are suited for the audience and keep them as concise as possible. The edits made by the Project Manager are only broad/rough edits.
  • Provide the draft articles to the Editor.
  • Receive the edited articles from the Editor.
  • Provide the final drafts for review and approval by CC Boise pastoral staff and make changes based on their feedback if necessary.
  • Provide final edited copies for review and approval by authors.
  • Set and coordinate a timeline design, prepress, printing and distribution.
  • Prepare the final drafts for design and prepress and submit to designer.
  • Review a draft of the publication from Designer.
  • Get final approval from CC Boise pastoral staff.
  • Set the schedule with the printer.
  • Coordinate with the mail processing company and postal service for mailing and distribution.

Field Editor - Amanda Towle

  • Collects articles to provide to project manager.

Distribution Manager - Teresa Rostron

  • Maintains the master mailing list.
  • Contacts churches and organizations to verify shipment quantities.
  • Adds news subscribers who submit request through our Websites.

Layout and Design - Melissa Bent

  • Graphic design
  • Typesetting
  • Photo selection and editing

Editor - Open

  • Edit the articles after the project manager's initial edit for clarity, style and grammar. The authors' writing styles and skills vary greatly. Some articles require very few edits while others, such as those written by authors whose first language is not English, may require a complete article be written based on their information with the by-line changed to the editor "as told by" the missionary (or however the editor decides). A typical publication will be comprised of 10-15 articles, approximately 750 words each. The style of the publication is informal and intended for a general audience so the editing process can be quite lenient.
  • Coordinate with Proofreaders if available.
  • Provides edited articles to Project Manager.

Proofreaders- Open

  • Proofread edited articles provided by Editor.
